Aventheon
Independent software products and engineering

Software products we build, run and improve.

Aventheon is a bootstrapped software company with three live products: PDFCourt for documents, ShuffleTurn for live audiences and Klaveno for AI clinical notes. We also bring the same engineering to other teams, as consulting, modernization and AI integration.

Have an aging app, an AI feature or a search problem? The first 30-minute call is free.

Self-funded and independently operated.

Engineering services

The same team, available to yours.

Running our own products taught us what makes software hard to keep alive. We now take on a limited number of client projects: software modernization, practical AI integration and web builds. Modernization is where we are most structured, so that is where we start.

Why now

Per the Next.js support policy, only versions 15 and 16 are supported today. An app on 13 or 14 no longer gets fixes. That is the kind of dated, checkable deadline we build a plan around.

The offer ladder

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.

Start free. Pay for an assessment only when you want a real roadmap. Commit to a sprint only after you have seen the plan and the fixed quote.

Assessment starts at $2,500 and is credited against the sprint. If we do not deliver the roadmap, you get the fee back. Sprints are quoted after the assessment. See how a sprint runs.

Inside an Upgrade Sprint

Boring on purpose. That is how upgrades stay safe.

01

Pin the target

We agree on one version target you can verify, such as Next.js 16 or a supported Django release, and what is out of scope.

02

Tests first

Before changing anything we add tests around the behavior that matters, so every later step can be checked against how the app works today.

03

Upgrade in small steps

Dependencies and framework versions move one controlled step at a time. Each step builds, passes the tests, and could ship on its own.

04

Rollback and handoff

You get a written rollback plan and docs your team can follow. Then the code is yours to carry on with, with or without us.

How we compare

A staged upgrade versus a typical rewrite.

This describes how we work, not a claim that everyone else works badly. Some projects really do need a rewrite, and the assessment will say so when they do.

Approach

Propose a full rewrite and a long cutover
Staged upgrades, each one shippable and reversible

Proof it still works

Manual testing near the end
Tests written first, so behavior is checked at every step

Scope and price

Open-ended estimate that grows with discovery
Assessment first, then a fixed quote for a defined version target

If something goes wrong

Fix forward and hope
A rollback plan written before anything ships

Who does the work

Sold by a partner, staffed by whoever is free
One accountable lead and vetted senior engineers, reviewed by us

Access and ownership

Code and logins held by the vendor
Your repo, your credentials, handoff docs at the end

Track record

A long client list you cannot check
A new firm that runs three live products of its own, so you can check the work

Alongside a modernization

Two supporting lines.

Web builds and rebuilds

New builds and targeted rebuilds, usually after or alongside a modernization.
